Get Up! Get Active!

Did you know: There’s a map showing different routes for walking/biking/running in Riverview Park. There’s a 3-mile route, along with two half-mile routes and a third-mile route. The new trails, Soap Hollow and White Pines, are measured so fitness enthusiasts can know how far they travel when exercising in our beautiful Riverview Park. The map is available at

Hannibal Parks & Recreation upcoming events and activities include:

Children’s Programs

Activity time for children 4-10 will be 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesdays in Riverview Park and other parks. Free but must register on hannibalparks.org.

 

Sand Volleyball

Fall League will be Aug. 14-Sept. 27 for co-ed teams Tuesdays and Thursdays. Registration going on now at HPR office at City Hall until Aug. 8.

 

Zumba class

Zumba in the Y Men’s Pavilion will be 6 to 6:45 p.m. every Monday and Thursday starting Aug. 2. The cost of the class is $30 for the month and signup is available at the Hannibal Parks & Recreation office at City Hall. At least 15 people must sign up before Aug. 2 or the class will be canceled.

 

Ramp Park

Open noon to dark every day in Huckleberry Park.

The Ramp Park is for roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, bicycles and scooters.  Safety equipment is available for rent. Helmets must be worn. Anyone under 18 years old must have a legal guardian sign a waiver in the presence of Ramp Park staff.

 

Disc Golf

Huckleberry Park 18-hole course is open during daytime hours (free)

Discs are for sale at the Ramp Park but Frisbees can be used just as easily

 

July Battle of the Month

Random Draw Doubles/Worst Shot at 2 p.m. Sunday July 22 at Huckleberry Park Disc Golf Course. Registration begins at 1:15 p.m.

 

Lighthouse Trail Scavenger Hunt

Starts at Tom and Huck statue

Clues at HPR office, HVCB office or Paddlewheel Popcorn, 121 N. Main St. (free)

 

Hannibal Aquatic Center

Open 7 days a week 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Lap swimming for adults is noon to 1 p.m. weekdays

 

Sunday Funday at Hannibal Aquatic Center

July 22  Grandparents Day: Grandparent’s admission is free when purchasing regular price admission for child

 

Summer fitness program

8:30-9:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays (free)

Riverview Park playground

Capture the beauty in the parks during all seasons
