Adopt-A-Bench example press release

An example of the benches that will be placed at the Hannibal riverfront is available at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.

The bench was dedicated to former and current members of the Hannibal Parks & Recreation staff and board. It will be located on the riverfront after the renovation is complete in 2019.

The Adopt-A-Bench program is designed to allow Hannibal residents and visitors to support Hannibal Parks by having a bench installed along the Hannibal riverfront.  Participants can use the program to remember a loved one, celebrate a joyous occasion or promote a business or organization.

Participation in this program includes the purchase and installation of the bench, as well as a memorial plaque.  The riverfront will feature benches on the sidewalk promenade along the riverfront. Benches may be purchased for $2,000.

The Admiral Coontz Recreation Center is open for recreational activities Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and until 5 p.m. on Friday.

More information is available by calling Hannibal Parks & Recreation Director Andy Dorian at 573-221-0154.
