Riverview Park celebrates its 100th birthday in 2009. Keep checking back for activities to celebrate the centennial birthday. Riverview Park is located at 2000 Harrison Hill. Enjoy nature in 465 acres of forested land offering scenic views of the Mississippi River. It was officially entered in the National Register for Historic Places on September 6, 2005. Click on http://lalh.org/preservRiverviewMain.html for a preservation case study through the Library of American Landscape History. Road resurfacing was completed in the summer of 2007. In September 2008 the City was notified by the Missouri Department of Conservation that our grant application for the removal of 17 hazardous trees was successful. $9880 of the funding for this project was made available through the Department of Conservation's Tree Resources Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) program. The tree removal project was completed in late 2008. Amenities include Clemens Memorial, Pettibone Memorial, shelters, picnic tables, a playground, restrooms, paved and natural trails. Riverview and North River Road trails are for non-motorized traffic only. Riverview Park has 3 shelters that are available for the public to rent. There is no electrical service to any of the three shelter sin Riverview Park. Shelters may be reserved for $15 for a half day (9am - 3pm) or (4pm - 10pm) or $20 for a full day.
