All About Eagles
DATE AND TIME
01/24/2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
All About Eagles (2)A nature program about eagles on the Mississippi River will be held on Sunday, Jan. 24 at Kiwanis Park.
Nature interpreter Gale Rublee will be at Kiwanis Park near the riverfront from 1-2 p.m. She will give information about the life cycle and feeding patterns of the bald eagle. “It’s exciting that the eagles have made a comeback over the last 20 years. Missouri provides an important wintering location for them.”
According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, eagles take up residence wherever they find open water and plentiful food. More than 2,000 bald eagles are typically reported in Missouri during winter.
Members of the Mississippi Hills Master Naturalists will be building an eagle’s nest and participants are encouraged to help.

Scavenger Hunts
The Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department has developed Scavenger Hunts to encourage visitors to the Hannibal parks. Hannibal children, along with visitors to Hannibal, will have a chance to explore our parks in a different way. These free activities allow participants to learn more about Hannibal Parks and to earn a free treat from a local business in the process!
Here are the scavenger hunts available so far (check back for future additions).
