Stream Study Children’s Nature Program

DATE AND TIME

08/14 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Children are encouraged to develop a love and concern for protecting our fresh-water sources through a nature program on Bear Creek trail Saturday, Aug. 14. The Stream Study will be 10 a.m. to noon starting at the parking lot at Sodalis Nature Preserve.

The children’s program will be guided by Gale Rublee, nature educator for Hannibal Parks & Recreation. Rublee said there are many fun ways to help youngsters explore streams and creeks. She said children must be accompanied by parents or guardians and must wear shoes.

Nature programs are free but reservations must be made by calling the Hannibal Parks & Recreation office at 573-221-0154 or emailing mlrichards@hannibal-mo.gov

Scavenger Hunts

The Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department has developed Scavenger Hunts to encourage visitors to the Hannibal parks. Hannibal children, along with visitors to Hannibal, will have a chance to explore our parks in a different way. These free activities allow participants to learn more about Hannibal Parks and to earn a free treat from a local business in the process!

Here are the scavenger hunts available so far (check back for future additions).
