Leisure, intermediate and competitive doubles Pickleball begins Sept. 10 in the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.
The leagues will play Tuesday nights Sept. 10-Oct. 15 and there will be a Competitive Tournament on Oct. 22.

Indoor Horseshoe League
starts Sunday, Sept. 8.
Games are played starting at 2 p.m. Sundays at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.

Gale Rublee, nature educator, will lead the hike. She has previously been a naturalist and teacher at Shaw Nature Reserve in St. Louis and has been a storyteller and actor. She is the coordinator and teacher for the Bluff City Theater Youth Education Theater Initiative.

Help us honor the veterans
The Veterans Memorial and Freedom Bell
will be located in Cardiff HIll Overlook, surrounded by memorial bricks with the names of veterans. Honor veterans by purchasing a brick for $125.
The
Adopt A Bench
program is designed to allow Hannibal residents and visitors to support Hannibal Parks by having a bench installed along the Hannibal riverfront. Participants can use the program to remember a loved one, celebrate a joyous occasion or promote a business or organization. Participation in this program includes the purchase and installation of the bench, as well as a memorial plaque. 
The riverfront will feature benches on the sidewalk promenade along the riverfront.

  • Sixth annual Big River Steampunk Festival Aug. 30-Sept. 2 in downtown Hannibal.
  • Meet Marie Byrum 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 31 in downtown Hannibal. Maria Ruoff Byrum was the first woman to vote in the U.S. on August 31, 1920, after the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Actress Ginny Ersery will portray Marie Byrum, interact with visitors to Hannibal, and pose for photos during the Big River Steampunk Festival.
  • Ribfest and Wings Sept. 7 at Mark Twain Cave Complex, music, food and fun with proceeds going to Hannibal Free Clinic. The ribs and wings are being prepared by more than 20 local award-winning BBQ teams. There will also be live music by Leo, as well as an area with yard games, like cornhole and jenga. Adult and light beverages will be available for purchase. There will be hotdogs available for children. The cost to attend is only $15 for adults and $6 for children ages 5-12; there is no charge for children under five.

  • Diversity Days Sept. 13-14 in downtown Hannibal, fifth annual fun-filled inclusive weekend .
  • Taste of Twain Sept. 14 in Mark Twain Boyhood Home Gardens and Interpretive Center parking lot; showcases great Missouri wineries and winemakers, local and regional craft breweries, and Hannibal area restaurants with two stages of live music; fundraiser for the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum properties.
  • Hootenanny Harvest Festival Sept. 21 at Mark Twain Cave Complex, with bicycle poker run, exotic petting zoo, pony rides, bounce houses, climbing wall, pumpkin painting contest, grape stomp, pie eating, music and lots more.
