Gale Rublee, nature educator, will lead the hike. She has previously been a naturalist and teacher at Shaw Nature Reserve in St. Louis and has been a storyteller and actor. She is the coordinator and teacher for the Bluff City Theater Youth Education Theater Initiative.

Fall Festival of Country Music

Music will be performed by Memory Lane, including Betty and Martin Miller, Harlon Lain, Wendell Glance, Virgil Watts, Greg Cornelius along with special guests Sue Taylor, Shirley Cornelius and others.
Free but donations will be accepted for the band. Food and drink concessions will be available.

The
Adopt A Bench
program is designed to allow Hannibal residents and visitors to support Hannibal Parks by having a bench installed along the Hannibal riverfront. Participants can use the program to remember a loved one, celebrate a joyous occasion or promote a business or organization. Participation in this program includes the purchase and installation of the bench, as well as a memorial plaque.
The riverfront will feature benches on the sidewalk promenade along the riverfront.

- Sixth annual Big River Steampunk Festival Aug. 30-Sept. 2 in downtown Hannibal. Check out the schedule here.
- Meet Marie Byrum 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 31 in downtown Hannibal. Maria Ruoff Byrum was the first woman to vote in the U.S. on August 31, 1920, after the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Actress Ginny Ersery will portray Marie Byrum, interact with visitors to Hannibal, and pose for photos during the Big River Steampunk Festival.
- Goat Yoga Sept. 1 at Show Me Your Goga and Petting Zoo in Hannibal. Classes at 2, 3 and 4 p.m. Registration and more information available here.
- Ribfest and Wings Sept. 7 at Mark Twain Cave Complex, music, food and fun with proceeds going to Hannibal Free Clinic. The ribs and wings are being prepared by more than 20 local award-winning BBQ teams. There will also be live music by Leo, as well as an area with yard games, like cornhole and jenga. Adult and light beverages will be available for purchase. There will be hotdogs available for children. The cost to attend is only $15 for adults and $6 for children ages 5-12; there is no charge for children under five.

- Taste of Twain Sept. 14 in Mark Twain Boyhood Home Gardens and Interpretive Center parking lot; showcases great Missouri wineries and winemakers, local and regional craft breweries, and Hannibal area restaurants with two stages of live music; fundraiser for the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum properties.
- Dogs of Society-Ultimate Elton John Tribute Band 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at Hannibal-LaGrange University Parker Theater, sponsored by Hannibal Concert Association.
- Hootenanny Harvest Festival Sept. 21 at Mark Twain Cave Complex, with bicycle poker run, exotic petting zoo, pony rides, bounce houses, climbing wall, pumpkin painting contest, grape stomp, pie eating, music and lots more.
- Paws for a Cause 9 a.m. Sept. 21 at the Health Way Trail at Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. $20 per person and $10 per dog. Each person receives a shirt and each dog receives a commemorative dog toy. Everyone participating will also have the opportunity for a free professional photograph with their buddy.
