Farmers Market

Central Park Farmers Market will open May 9, with social distancing guidelines being established as an abundance of caution.

The vendor tents will be spaced further apart to avoid lines and allow customers to move about the market with more room. The Farmers Market will be 7:30 a.m. to noon every Saturday through October.

Steve Huse, Central Park Farmers Market manager said, new policies will be enacted; such as eliminating product samples and minimizing the opportunities to touch produce.

Huse said, “We are recommending that everyone at the market limit their amount of socializing while at the market. But you’re still going to be able to interact with the vendors and ask questions.”

During Phase 1 of the CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19, all picnic tables and restrooms will still be closed. If Phase 2 begins June 1 as planned, the Central Park rest room will be reopened and picnic tables will be available.

Transmission of COVID-19 could occur from contact with contaminated surfaces or objects, then touching mouth, nose or possibly eyes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
