The two winners of the Hannibal Proud prizes were Brayden Mathews, 12, and Karsyn Elston, 7, for their chalk drawings.

Hannibal Proud – which is a collaboration of businesses, individuals, and organizations – provided chalk to schoolchildren through meal distribution provided by Hannibal Public Schools and Douglass Community Services.

Children were encouraged to use the chalk to draw a picture or write an encouraging message on their driveway and post it to the Hannibal Proud Facebook page. The winners, chosen randomly, earned Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce gift certificates.
