City employees Pam Block, Edie Graupman and Susan Osterhout fill bags to be distributed to Hannibal students Thursday.

Hannibal Proud – which is a collaboration of businesses, individuals, and organizations – is joining forces with the Hannibal School District and Douglass Community Services to provide a springtime diversion to children, during this time of pandemic.

Sidewalk chalk and a piece of paper with a scavenger hunt on one side and a chalk-drawing idea on the other will be included in the meals distributed by Hannibal Public Schools to students on Thursday, April 9. City employees prepared the bags in City Hall Wednesday.

Children are encouraged to use the chalk to draw a picture or write an encouraging message on their driveway. Parents are welcome to take a photo of the drawing and post it on the Hannibal Proud Facebook page. All photos will be entered in a raffle to win a Hannibal Proud prize package.
