There will be additional time for anyone to send a letter to the future.

There will be a box during the Hannibal Folklife Festival for letters to be included in the 2069 time capsule.

During Hannibal’s 200th birthday celebration, the Bicentennial Committee has invited Hannibal citizens to become a part of history by seeking letters for the Bicentennial time capsule. The deadline is Friday, Oct. 18.

However, letters may be submitted during Hannibal’s Folklife Festival Oct. 19-20. There will be a box at the coffee stand at the corner Main Street and Broadway.

The time capsule will be officially closed on Oct. 26 in Central Park; and will be opened 50 years from now, in 2069.
