Saturday, Oct. 26 is the last day of the Central Park Farmers Market for the 2024 season. Market hours are 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. There will also be a Trunk or Treat for little ones wearing costumes.
Steve Huse, market manager, said about 30 vendors are in the park each Saturday, along with live music provided by a variety of musicians.
Central Park Farmers Market began on April 26. It is a producer-only market, featuring fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruits grown within a 100-mile radius of Hannibal. There is fresh produce, baked goods, crafts and live plants for the yard and garden.
This is the third year that several of the vendors are eligible to take SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits for payment, through a program with Douglass Community Services. Also, Hannibal Parks & Recreation provides wifi in the park during market hours.
Located in the heart of Hannibal, in the city’s oldest park, the market plays a vital role as a community gathering place that offers the very best products from the area. The market offers consumers healthy, yet affordable, alternatives to the typical supermarket experience.
