2069 Time Capsule will be closed at 10 a.m. Saturday

26 in Central Park.
The time capsule will be opened 50 years from now, in 2069.
Items in the time capsule include yearbooks, rosters from service clubs and lists of employees, souvenirs from Hannibal’s Bicentennial celebration, photographs from the sandbagging efforts and letters.
Seventh-graders wrote letters to the citizens of Hannibal in 2069 and teachers chose the best letter from each homeroom or school. The winners will read their letters at the ceremony.
The class winners from Hannibal Middle School were: Mia Watson, Piper Harvey, Breanna Smith and Zora Reese. The winner from Holy Family School was Prestan Schanbacher. The winner from St. John’s School was Alana Lemon. 
The time capsule was donated by Smith Funeral Home.

Admiral Coontz Recreation Center
will be closed today through Nov. 4 for DARE Halloween Party. Registration for Hannibal Area Shooter’s Education Youth BB Gun League is 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.

She is a founding member of the Mississippi Hills Master Naturalists chapter in Hannibal and is coordinator and teacher for the Bluff City Theater Youth Education in Theater Initiative.

Help us honor the veterans
The Veterans Memorial and Freedom Bell
will be located in Cardiff HIll Overlook, surrounded by memorial bricks with the names of veterans. Honor veterans by purchasing a brick for $125.
The
Adopt A Bench
program is designed to allow Hannibal residents and visitors to support Hannibal Parks by having a bench installed along the Hannibal riverfront. Participants can use the program to remember a loved one, celebrate a joyous occasion or promote a business or organization. Participation in this program includes the purchase and installation of the bench, as well as a memorial plaque. 
The riverfront will feature benches on the sidewalk promenade along the riverfront.
