Dancing is an activity full of fitness and fun for all ages. Partner dancing will be taught starting March 20 at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center by some dance enthusiasts who want to spread the joy of dancing to others.

Tom and Judy Lemons took their first dance class 20 years ago, and have continued dancing ever since.

Tom is a retired dentist and pastor of First Methodist Church, Judy recently retired as a science teacher at Hannibal-LaGrange University. “When we took our first class, we found it fun and challenging,” Tom said. “We really enjoy doing it, so now we like to encourage others to enjoy it as well.”

Partner dancing will be Wednesdays at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center. The lessons will be 7-7:45 p.m. for beginners and those with some experience.  People of all dance levels are invited to an open dance time 7:45-8:30 p.m.  The types of dances taught will include Swing, Fox Trot or Waltz.

The classes will be March 20, April 3 and April 10. More dates will be added if participation is sufficient.

The cost is $5 per person per night payable at the door.
