Another Pirate Ridge Trail Hike has been added to the Hannibal Parks & Recreation nature program schedule.

The Pirate Ridge Trail Hike will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24 at Sodalis Nature Preserve. Participants will explore the un-paved Pirate Ridge Trail while observing seasonal changes. The 3-mile hike will be on rugged terrain and will take about 2 hours. Participants will start at the parking lot.

Gale Rublee, Hannibal Parks & Recreation interpreter guide, said the hike will be a good opportunity for anyone reluctant to try to trail alone. Rublee has more than 25 years of experience as a nature educator. She is a founding member of the Mississippi Hills Master Naturalists chapter in Hannibal and is coordinator and teacher for the Bluff City Theater Youth Education in Theater Initiative.

The hike is free but reservations are suggested by calling Hannibal Parks & Recreation at 221-0154 or emailing mlrichards@hannibal-mo.gov.
