The Admiral Coontz Recreation Center will close at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 for event setup and will be closed for recreational purposes on Thursday, Oct. 3, due to Project Community Connect, which is a one-stop service day for residents of Marion and Ralls counties to gain access to free quality of life services.

The Admiral Coontz Recreation Center is open during daytime hours for walking and other activities. An attendant on duty can lend out athletic equipment and games. There is also a Play Without Boundaries Special Needs room with equipment for developmentally disabled individuals.

Regular hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.
