There have been senior adult dances at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center for 45 years. A carry-in and special celebration is planned for Wednesday, Oct. 2 to celebrate the occasion.

The Senior Adult Dances feature the music of the Uptown Strings from noon to 3 p.m. every Wednesday. Betty Parsons Miller has been playing for the entire 45 years, but the band members have changed

About 30 people attend the weekly dances, at times there have been more than 100 participants. Some of the dancers have been participating for several decades.
