People have been fascinated by the night sky for centuries, using it for navigation, storytelling and connection to the cosmos.
Hannibal Parks & Recreation is offering a nature program called “Springtime Stargazing” at 6:30 p.m. Friday March 7 in Riverview Park. Meet at Frisbee Field.
Gale Rublee, HPR nature educator, will lead the program with the help of members of the Mississippi Hills Master Naturalists.
Rublee said, “Bring binoculars and lawn chair or blanket and join us for an evening of stargazing. We’ll explore constellations, planets, and celestial wonders that grace the heavens this season. Learn about the connection between the changing seasons and the stars while enjoying the beauty of a spring evening. This is perfect for ages and curiosity levels!”
Nature programs are sponsored by Hannibal BASF. Register for space at www.hannibalparks.recdesk.com/Community/Program
