The Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department is providing a Storybook Trail for the first time ever in Nipper Park.
Storybook Trail is a free, family-oriented activity provided by Hannibal Parks & Recreation, in which the pages of the book are installed along the sidewalk.
The Storybook Trail will be Oct. 21-Nov. 3. The book is “It’s Pumpkin Day, Mouse!” written by Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond.
Hannibal Parents as Teachers will hold a special storytime at the Storybook Trail from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24.
Mary Lynne Richards, recreation supervisor with Hannibal Parks & Recreation, said the book will be available for two weeks to give youngsters a chance to read the book as they walk through the park. “Nipper Park is such a scenic place to appreciate nature.”
She encourages visitors to the Farmers Market in Kiwanis Park to take advantage of the Storybook Trail, the last day of the Farmers Market is Oct. 25.
