Teenagers can learn about healthy lifestyle choices while having fun at the teen fair Saturday.
There will be 36 booths at the 26th Annual Teen Health Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center. There will also be a disc jockey with music, a photo booth, free prizes for participating teens and free food for all visitors.
During the event, teens can put on glasses simulating the effects of alcohol on simple tasks like walking and observe a demonstration of seat belt importance. Information on electrical and fire safety, mental health issues, abstinence, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, and effects of drugs, alcohol and vaping will be presented.
The Teen Health Fair is made possible due to donations from area merchants and individuals, the Riedel Foundation, and Evening Kiwanis, Healthy Blue and Home State Health. The event is co-sponsored by the CHART Teen Task Force and Hannibal Parks & Recreation.
