A walking challenge begins Monday, Nov. 11, at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.

The Healthy for Life program of A. T. Still University (ATSU) in partnership with Hannibal Parks and Recreation, is hosting the walking challenge starting at 9 a.m.

Pedometers will be furnished to all of  the participants.

DeEtta Jones of the Northeast Missouri Regional Arthritis Center said, “This challenge will teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life.  Exercise is key to part of a healthy lifestyle.  It’s a proven way to manage pain, improve mood, and help you move easier.”

The Twain Tracks walking challenge is made possible through a grant by Department of Health & Senior Services and the CDC.  For more information about the Twain Tracks walking challenge contact DeEtta Jones at (660)626-2061 or (660)292-1513.
