HPR offers many programs and recreational opportunities. We strive to offer activities for all ages, all levels of ability and a variety of interests. We proactively look to promote healthy, active lifestyles. Senior, adult, youth and family activities are available. Whatever you are into, HPR has something for you. Call 573-221-0154 for details. Toddler Tuesdays
Every Tuesday from 9-11AM (may be canceled due to special events)
Admiral Coontz Recreation Center
For children up to 5 years old
Young children will be able to use the gym without colliding with basketball players
Imagination Playground building blocks will be brought into the gymnasium
There are also coloring books, puzzles, balls and games
This is not a babysitting service - each adult is allowed to bring no more than four children and must sign in with the attendant

Sodalis Nature Preserve Art Contest
One winner in each division will accompany U.S. Fish & Wildlife Endangered Species Biologists into the caves in Spring of 2017!
Winners announced 5 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at official dedication of Sodalis Nature Preserve
Entries must be submitted by October 14th to Hannibal Parks & Recreation office (320 Broadway)

Celebrate Hannibal's bat heritage and enjoy family friendly activities!
Bat Education will be presented hourly on the stage!
Information will be provided from US Fish & Wildlife Service, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Bat Census, Mark Twain Cave, Cave Research Foundating, Parents as Teachers, Hannibal Clinic, and Hannibal Parks & Recreation 

Pumpkins in the Park
Sunday, October 30, 2016 - 3-5PM
Nipper Park
Join us for a pumpkin decoraating contest and exhibit!
Categories: Scariest, Most Original, and Funniest
Age Groups: Children (12 & under) and Adult (13 & up)
All pumpkins must be pre-decorated and at Nipper Park between 2-3PM on October 30th
Pumpkins can be decorated with paint, glitter, markers, etc., but cannot be carved

Shooter's Education
Thursdays, November 3, 2016 through February 23, 2017 (6:30-9PM)
Admiral Coontz Recreation Center
Youths ages 8 to 18 - no experience needed
Registration is Thursday, October 27th from 6-7PM
Registration will be followed by a short intro of the program and a Q&A session

Winter Pickleball Leagues
Tuesdays: November 15, 2016-December 20, 2016 (times will be determined after all registrations are received)
Admiral Coontz Recreation Center
Ages 13 & Up
$35 per team (doubles only)
Limit of 15 Competitive teams and 9 Leisure teams
Registration is due by November 7th

Scavenger Hunts
The Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department has developed Scavenger Hunts to encourage visitors to the HPR sites
These free activities allow participants to learn more about Hannibal Parks and to earn a free treat from a local business in the process!
