HPR offers more than 50 structured programs and passive recreational opportunities. We strive to offer activities for all ages, all levels of ability and a variety of interests. We proactively look to promote healthy, active lifestyles. Senior, adult, youth and family activities are available. Whatever you are into, HPR has something for you. Call 573-221-0154 for details.

Indoor Archery
Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM (Starting October 5, 2011 through March 7, 2012)
Admiral Coontz Armory
This activity is free to the public
Participants are required to bring their own bow and arrows
Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older)
Nature Walk
Hannibal Parks & Recreation and Missouri Department of Conservation are offering a series of Nature Walks in Riverview Park this spring.
The first Nature Walk is 10 a.m. March 24, 2012. Participants will meet at the entrance to the River Road Trail.
David Vance, resource forester, will lead a group on an easy hike down the paved River Road Trail and will tell participants about the different species of trees in Hannibal’s Riverview Park. The 103-year-old park with 465 acres of forested land is on the National Register for Historic Places.
Participants must sign up for the event by calling the Hannibal Parks & Recreation office at 221-0154 or by emailing mlrichards@hannibal-mo.gov.
British Challenger Soccer Camp
June 4, 2012 through June 8, 2012
Norfolk and Southern Sports Complex
Various categories for ages 3 through 17
Those that register on-line at least 45 days prior to camp will receive a Challenger Sports jersey!
Art from the Parks Exhibit and Competition
Area Artist Exhibit and Competition features original artwork in all media showcasing the beauty of Hannibal’s parks.
Artwork for all media, photographs, paintings, drawings, sculpture, etc., will be accepted.
The exhibit won’t be until February of 2013.
If an artist wants to submit the maximum two pieces, each must be from a different season.
