HPR offers more than 50 structured programs and passive recreational opportunities. We strive to offer activities for all ages, all levels of ability and a variety of interests. We proactively look to promote healthy, active lifestyles. Senior, adult, youth and family activities are available. Whatever you are into, HPR has something for you. Call 573-221-0154 for details. Toddler Tuesdays
Every Tuesday from 9-11AM (may be canceled due to special events)
Admiral Coontz Recreation Center
For children up to 5 years old
Young children will be able to use the gym without colliding with basketball players
Imagination Playground building blocks will be brought into the gymnasium
There are also coloring books, puzzles, balls and games
This is not a babysitting service - each adult is allowed to bring no more than four children and must sign in with the attendant

Storybook Trail
September 12-22, 2014 (All day)
Central Park
Enjoy reading, exercising, and family time all in one!  
This program is free and fun!

Discover Nature - Fishing Program
Wednesdays in September (9/24/14) - 6PM
First lesson will be held at Huckleberry Park Pond
For kids ages 7 to 15

Discraft Ace Race
Saturday, September 27, 2014 - 10AM (Registration and packet pickup - 8-9:30AM)
Huckleberry Disc Golf Course
$25 per player - Players of all ages and abilities are welcome!
Only aces count!
New prototype Discraft discs - Each player gets a packet of Discraft items
Pre-register by September 12th at the Parks & Rec Office (320 Broadway) or at the Huckleberry Ramp Park building

Tree Care and Maintenance Workshop
Wednesday, October 1, 2014 - 8:00AM
At HLGU in the Science Building - Room 100
Sponsored by Missouri Department of Conservation and Hannibal Tree Board
Workshop for grounds keepers, city employees, and other professionals involved with tree care
Applying these techniques will result in healthier trees that live longer, provide improved aesthetic qualities, and require minimal future maintenance needs
Light refreshments will be provided

Pumpkins in the Park

Nipper Park (on the riverfront)
Categories: Scariest, Most Original, and Funniest
Age Groups: Children (12 & Under) and Adults (13 & Up)
All pumpkins must be pre-decorated and at Nipper park between 2-3PM

Scavenger Hunts
The Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department has developed Scavenger Hunts to encourage visitors to the HPR sites
These free activities allow participants to learn more about Hannibal Parks and to earn a free treat from a local business in the process!
