Hannibal Parks & Recreation is one of the founding members of the Living Better Initiative. The Living Better initiative takes the letters of BETTER to motivate and foster a culture in northeast Missouri which encourages residents to make lifestyle choices which positively affect the health, longevity, and quality of their lives. BETTER stands for Be Active, Eat Well, Team Up, Treasure Family, Envision Purpose and Relax and Recharge. The goal of Living Better is to unite current health initiatives of organizations in northeast Missouri under a common banner of Living Better. The website has a calendar and map that allows easy access to ways to Live BETTER.

Indoor Archery returns starting Wednesday, December 2, 2020. The program will run on Wednesdays from 6:30-9PM through February 24, 2021 (no session on December 16th). The Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department has developed Scavenger Hunts to encourage visitors to the Hannibal parks. Hannibal children, along with visitors to Hannibal, will have a chance to explore our parks in a different way. These free activities allow participants to learn more about Hannibal Parks and to earn a free treat from a local business in the process!
