Hannibal Area Shooter’s Education Youth BB Gun League program had a year that featured several outstanding shooters this year, as shown in the awards banquet recently at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.

Travis Moore, program coordinator, said Katherine Painter, Nick Lawson and David Tutor were the top shooters and scored high in the positions and contests. About 35 youngsters finished the program.

He said the two main goals are firearm safety and individual accomplishments. He recognized Trinity Tutor for being his assistant and Stephen Lohman for being a fill-in coach.

Moore thanked Hannibal Parks & Recreation, Early-Bird Kiwanis, National Rifle Association and Hannibal Lowe’s Store for funding the program.
