Registration for a Hannibal Parks & Recreation’s first ever Summer Pickleball League is open.

This will be the first league at the Huckleberry Park courts.

Participants may sign up for leisure, intermediate or competitive league. Play will be on Thursday evenings at Huckleberry Park courts, starting July 2 and ending Aug. 6. There will be a tournament for the competitive league on Thursday, Aug. 13.

Jenna McDonald, recreation supervisor for Hannibal Parks & Recreation, said pickleball players are using Huckleberry Park courts a lot this summer. “With the increased interest in pickleball, we’re excited to try a pickleball league outdoors,” she said. “The Huckleberry Park courts are very popular for all ages and skill levels.”

The four courts were resurfaced with an all-weather cushioned sport surface in 2019 and lines repainted with both tennis and pickleball lines.

The registration deadline is June 24. The cost is $35 per team (doubles only). Registration is available at the Hannibal Parks & Recreation office at City Hall, 320 Broadway. More information is available by calling Jenna McDonald at 573-221-0154 or emailing jmcdonald@hannibal-mo.gov.
