Hannibal basketball aficionados are promoting the sport by offering free instruction and coaching. Caleb Gosney said the goal is to encourage young players to develop their skills.
A free basketball clinic called September Jam, starts Sept. 10 at the Hannibal Parks & Recreation courts at Sixth Street and Warren Barrett Drive, Norfolk & Southern Multi-Sports Park.
The clinic is for boys in 4th-6th grades and will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on the following dates:
- 10
- 17
- 24
Gosney said he and his friends, some of which are on the Hannibal High School coaching staff, want to encourage youngsters to develop skills in basketball.
Registration isn’t necessary but notification of participants will help the organizers plan. Participants are asked to bring a basketball if possible.
