The peak of fall color is happening now in Hannibal parks. A nature program for all ages focuses on the foliage in Riverview Park.

Fabulous Fall Foliage will be 2 p.m. Sunday Oct. 27. Participants should meet at Shelter No. 1 at the Riverview Park playground. The nature program will focus on learning why leaves fall off the trees and turn color in autumn. Participants will collect leaves, learn about deciduous trees and make a community nature mandala.

Gale Rublee, Hannibal Parks & Recreation interpreter guide, will lead the nature program. Rublee has more than 25 years of experience as a nature educator. She is a founding member of the Mississippi Hills Master Naturalists chapter in Hannibal and is coordinator and teacher for the Bluff City Theater Youth Education in Theater Initiative.

The nature program is free but reservations are suggested by calling Hannibal Parks & Recreation at 221-0154 or emailing
