Beautiful weather is in the forecast for the first day of free usage at the Ramp Park at Huckleberry Park.
Saturday marks the first day of the Ramp Park being a skate-at-your-own-risk facility, therefore free to the public. No one is allowed in the Ramp Park during inclement weather but this weekend’s forecast is in the 60s.
The Ramp Park will be open 8 a.m. to dusk every day for roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, bicycles and scooters.
The Ramp Park opened in 2005 and features below grade concrete bowls with 6 feet drop-ins, banks, spines, rollers, a hubba ledge, grind block, extensions and a hand rail. At that time, the city insurance required a manned facility but since then the policy has changed.
